INNOVATIVE TEXTILES

Eindhoven Materials Library

The exhibition Innovative Textiles during the Dutch Design Week in the ‘Klokgebouw’ in Eindhoven offers a surprising and inspiring overview of the most innovative woven materials with examples of applications from the world of fashion, interior and automotive design. The collection on display was based on the MatériO (Paris) exhibition carrying the same name, supplemented with contributions from Material Sense (Eindhoven) and Philips Design.

For the exhibition, we designed and realized a freestanding display wall on a blue carpet. With examples of real materials presented on one side of the wall, which can be touched through open square holes in the canvas that covered the wall. On the other side of the wall objects featuring special applications of materials are shown which can be viewed through round holes. A large expanded polystyrene sofa, integrated into the blue floor covering, creates the atmosphere of an inspiring meeting place.
